Susan Asks:
>>What is the truth about Pergatory?  Does this not conflict with scriptures?<<

Dear Susan,
Thank you for visiting our website and asking such relevant questions. The answer to your question is, "Yes," the doctrine of pergatory does conflict with scriptures. We know from such passages as Luke 16:22-26, Luke 23:42-43 and 2 Corinthians 5:8 that when a child of God dies, he or she is immediately taken to be with the Lord. There is no time of suffering or penance.

Jesus already suffered and died for our sins--he paid the price in full before he was ever taken down from the cross (John 19:30). Such a thing as pergatory is not even hinted at in scripture.
