True Story
We visited a small fellowship recently. It had been in existence for 15 years, yet the
membership totaled about 9 (including children and the Pastor and his wife).
The Pastor and his wife had been experiencing health problems. Hers
were particularly severe, disabling and life-threatening.
They were talking with us about these things and shared that they had believed and
taught the scriptures concerning healing and indeed, for years, had enjoyed almost perfect health themselves.
Then, inexplicably, only 3 years previously, one health problem after another cropped
up (with both of them) until the situation, with the wife, became critical.
At the time of our visit, she had severe diabetes, she was on daily dialysis for kidney
failure, she was legally blind and her doctors had tentatively suggested amputating one of her legs due to circulation
difficulties--all of this within the short space of 3 short years!
Now we discerned many strongholds within the leadership of that tiny fellowship which
we began praying about immediately.
And the Pastors seemed to welcome our message (about cleaning house and booting strongholds)
with open arms. However, they were clear that they did not have a problem with promoting a variety of Bible versions (even
though they liked to do their pulpit reading from the King James Version).
We agreed to disagree on that and, as we have a ministry of helps, stayed on with
the fellowship and fulfilled a commitment we had made to the pastor.
After our commitment was fulfilled. The last Sunday we attended, the Pastor took a particularly
vicious stand, from the pulpit, against the King James Bible (in favor of other versions) along with a few other topics we
had discussed together.
We were fairly astounded at the transparency of his attack--other church members
also realized the message was a direct attack aimed, not only at undermining certain doctrinal positions, but our
personal credibility as well.
These were things we could have discussed privately, as we had touched on all of them
briefly before, but the Pastor did not see fit to do so.
Since he had made such a public display of undermining us and our message about
the importance of knowing about the different Bible versions, we felt it was not inappropriate to write an exit letter
to the Church leadership. We sent one to each individually.
We were not surprised that we didn't hear back from most of them.
We did, however, hear from one of them. She called us to say she got our letter and that
we were right.
Now, this article is not about whether we were right or wrong.
Everything else has been said to say this--she reminded us of something the Pastor had
mentioned in one of our very first conversations with him and his wife--but we had forgotten about.
She said that until about 3 years prior, the Pastor read only the King James
Bible and insisted that all Pulpit reading and Bible teaching in that Church be done from that version only.
Then, she said, he suddenly changed his policy and she had noticed great changes in the
pastor from then on.
It hit us like a ton of bricks, that it was also 3 years ago that
the Pastor's (and wife's) serious health problems began--very suddenly.
It was the first time we had ever made such a connection, concerning Bible versions and
health problems, but we did not think it was a coincidence.
God has been very good to us, and his healing hand has been upon us consistently.
But I remember, that even as I began to embrace the truth about his divine healing
many years ago, and experienced many healings, I did not begin to walk in divine health until about 11
years ago. That wasn't too long after I had made the decision to stick with the King James Bible.
I really didn't know much about the different versions at that time, but I had discovered
differences in the various readings that disturbed me, so I made the healthy choice and stuck with what I knew I could
trust.
It was shortly after that, in 1995, when I scheduled my last Doctor's
appointment.
The only time I have had medical attention since then, was in 2003 when the emergency
room staff at Fort Walton Beach, FL determined that, miraculously, I was unharmed from the brutal attack I received
from my former husband (see my testimony).
That was because God had already healed me of serious, and I know fatal, injuries well
before I was taken (at the insistence of my Pastor--against my will) to the emergency room.
That is all a testament to the glory and great mercies of God.
I am nothing special, and God is not a respector of persons. It is his Word that is special.
And he honors both his Word and those who will honor his Word by being doers and not hearers only.
Educate yourself concerning the Word of God and Bible versions. We are convinced that
is a starting point for enjoying divine health (notice we said "starting point" there is more).
There is an online book right here on this website. Check out our claims. Refute them
if you can.
But we very much doubt that you can. Because, we have been careful ourselves in
researching for the truth... and we have faithfully passed it along to our readers.
