To Irma Appleton from Jocelyn Andersen October 7, 2005:
Dear Irma;
When you were asked to share about “your people” at Bible study last
Tuesday, one would have expected a minister of the gospel to have shown great concern, and begged intercessory prayer, for
the devastation which is rampant among the Native American people in our area, in large part, due to adherence to the
old ways.
We understand that, according to scripture--any spirit that is not almighty God, his Son Jesus Christ,
the Holy Spirit or a ministering spirit from God [holy angel] is a demon spirit.
In light of that, we know that any spiritual activity which recognizes any Spirit besides these mentioned
is in actually an activity which acknowledges devils, i.e., demon worship.
I sat appalled the other night as
I listened to you not only glorify the old ways of your people, but also equate demons with our precious Lord, Savior
and Creator, Jesus Christ.
That was blasphemy. The “Great Spirit” is no more our creator than the islamic “Allah”
is. Jesus
Christ is the only Creator the Scriptures mention
Jesus defined blasphemy as equating the work of God with the work of the devil—Creation
was a work of God. Proclaiming a demon spirit to be God the Creator is doing exactly that.
The warning was extreme—he said blasphemy would not be forgiven,
either in this life or the next, and we are instructed in scripture to admonish a heretic once or twice—then reject
them as they are subverted and in sin.
This is the second admonition you have received from me concerning demon worship.
I beg you—repent
quickly.
