Dearest Brother:
I'm writing you this morning with a heaviness upon my heart.
We did not know when you invited us to your church for Mexican food and good singing on Sunday
night October 30, that you were inviting us to a halloween party.
When we arrived, we turned around and left in disgust at the site we saw (people
dressed in costumes, orange and black baloons etc., all the trappings of a halloween festival).
You and your church can call it what you will, but having a party because it is halloween--is
having a halloween party.
A Satanist was recently quoted as saying he loved halloween, because it was the one day of the year
that both Christians and Satanists worship the same God.
Unconscious as it may have been on your part, you and everyone who attended that event were acknowledging
the same god as the Satanists do.
I see you my brother as I was about 15 years ago, full of religion, puffed up about my salvation, all
the while kissing up to the world.
I flooded my spirit with worldly things--this is the path to destruction... look where I ended
up.
We have, on several occasions, tried to give you sound counsel, but you have consistently refused
to listen.
Quite some time ago, we discerned a spirit of rebellion working in your life and also
some prejudicial issues with women.
One example of this is the time you told us you strongly desired more understanding
of biblical doctrine.
Jocelyn asked if you would like to go through a study course she had written for just
that purpose. and you said, "yes," so she began giving you her 16 lesson "Redemption" course one short lesson
at a time (each only 1-2 pages long).
This study course is easy to understand and relatively short (considering it covers almost every
major doctrine of Christianity and gives a simple, panoramic view of Bible prophecy, from creation to the New Earth,
at the same time).
After only 2 lessons, you said you didn't have time for it.
You also said you had difficulty concentrating when reading.
The difficulty concentrating was demonic interferance--a manifestation that should have been bound,
rebuked and cast out.
We have prayerfully and gently tried to bring this to your attention, but you have consistently
refused to hear that Christians can be demonized on any level.
They can be, and many are (we have spoken to you, plainly, more than once, about the things
you allow yourself to be exposed to--you always laugh it off).
You let the devil cheat you out of valuable knowledge that you needed in order to truly understand
God's great redemption--the very doctrine you claimed you wanted to understand.
And if you ever want to be fully obedient to God in the ministry, you must learn doctrine--all
ministers are required, not only to understand doctrine--but to teach it and contend for it--for doctrine
consists wholly of the things our faith is based upon.
We were very disappointed that you gave up on the study. It would have increased your understanding
of doctrine considerably.
Refusing to endure sound doctrine and participating in halloween festivals and Native
spirituality inspired activities such as drum circles, pow-wows, and the like cannot be done without rejecting
the truth....
Jesus called us out from the world, to be different from the world. He called us to be his
own peculiar people.
Jesus openly contended with and confronted the religious leadership of his day.
Jesus had dinner with sinners, but he never consorted with them in ungodly activities,
and he never offered a Christianized version of any sinful activity as an alternative.
We are told to come out from among them and be separate....
That requires enduring the discomfort of not always fitting in. That requires us to become
oddities within our culture.
Friendship with the world is enmity with Christ.
Our Christian predecessors were oddities (that great cloud of witnesses we are surrounded with-of
whom the world is not worthy).
They are our examples.
You won't receive the Word, because you haven't read the Word.
You may glance at a watered down version of it from time to time--your own father has contended
with you many times on that score.
You dress yourself up in religion and are so proud of your Christian T-shirts, crosses and
other religious paraphanlia.
These things smack of idolatry.
The spirit of idolitry always requires visual reinforcement.
Satanists wear crosses. They were wearing crosses long before it became fashionable for Christians
to do so.
All demonically inspired belief systems require visual reinforcement...
Worship of the only true God--the God of Heaven--doesn't.
Jesus remonstrated with Thomas, because he had to see something before he
would believe, but he blessed those who hadn't seen--yet believed.
Religious Images are forbidden to the people of God.
I'm only saying these things to you because I love and care about the condition of your soul.
How you take this will determine the way you take any counsel from the Holy Spirit, because I am speaking in obedience
to the Holy Spirit.
There is an old saying that comes to mind, "if you don't stand for something, you will fall for
anything."
You my brother, are falling for anything.
I pray with all that's in me you will turn from the path you're on and look to Jesus for the path
you need to be on.
Get into the Word of God (a sword--not a butter knife), and let it take hold within you.
These are the last days.
Choose you this day who you will serve.
