These things are brought to attention because we have a sincere desire to see God's people free from oppressive strongholds and to see souls prosper.

If you are dealing with chronic depression, anxiety, negative feelings of agitation, anger and/or other strongholds--even recurring or persistent illness, a point of contact in your life or home could be a factor in this--it may not necessarily have been put there by you or be taken seriously by you, but that does not mean it cannot adversely affect you.

Points of contact (see article on this site) can be anything that deals with spiritual matters (books, symbols, objects, images, etc.), whether we acribe power to them or not. Devils may use these objects or images as points of contact in order to bring some level of spiritual oppression into our lives--which can manifest both emotionally and physically.

The scriptures say that if we allow the enemy to remain anywhere in our land (the OT battles to possess the promised land are types of battles with spiritual wickedness), the oppression will take 2 forms (which cover all aspects of life--Numbers 33:55).

#1.)  The first will be "pricks in our eyes." This means spiritual discernment will be distorted (and Jesus said if our discernment is distorted, it will not only have a detrimental effect on us spiritually, but our "whole" body will be affected as well--Luke 11:34-36).  

#2.) The second will be "Thorns in the sides"--which is a direct reference to our physical health.
